ABOUT the LABORATORY

The Trauma and Resilience Laboratory was established in the 2021–2022 academic year under the Department of Clinical Psychology at Ibn Haldun University and continues its work in coordination with İPAM (Ibn Haldun Center for Psychological Research). Under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burcu Uysal, the lab conducts various academic and applied research projects with the active participation of undergraduate and graduate students.

ACADEMIC MeetIngs AND Knowledge Exchange

Academic meetings organized by researchers within the lab host leading experts in the fields of trauma and resilience, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and experience. These meetings also provide a platform to critically compare diverse theoretical frameworks and trauma paradigms. Through original programs such as the Methodological Colloquium Series, the lab aims to explore current research methodologies and strengthen the methodological competencies of young researchers.

Communıty-Based Programs

In addition to academic activities, the lab also organizes community-based programs aimed at increasing public awareness around trauma and psychological resilience.

THEMATIC RESEARCH GROUPS

The lab’s academic research efforts are carried out through thematic working groups established under specific focus areas. These groups include:

  • General Trauma Research Group
  • Psychological Resilience Group
  • Dissociative Disorders Research Group
  • EMDR Research Group

ACADEMIC GOALS

Undergraduate and graduate students in Clinical Psychology participate in these groups according to their interests and collaborate across groups to design and implement research projects. The laboratory aims to publish in internationally recognized journals and expand its academic and scientific influence through national and international collaborations.

General Trauma Research Group

Focuses on trauma-related mental health, developing interventions and international collaborations.
